PKNail is a commercial grade application designed, built, and tested by professionals for field professionals to allow a user to quickly and accurately capture  existing building information directly into Revit in real time. It utilizes point-to-point laser technology for realtime field measurements data, capture, and creation of floor plans and BIM models in the field.

PKNail allows a user to capture, wall, windows, doors, levels, plumbing objects, fire protection, if it is found on a wall you can model and place it within the model quickly, easily, 3D coordinated and ready to be scheduled.

WHY

We found out very quickly that few technologies exist between paper and pencil and $100,000 machines.  We needed, as building surveyors ourselves, a quick and efficient way to capture building geometry and objects.  And by capturing and modeling in the field it provided us, as it can you tremendous benefits.

HOW

Typically, building surveying and documentation is done with pencil, paper and measuring tape. It is repetitive, time consuming, and prone to error. PKNail offers the modern-day answer to transcribing measurements onto drawings and then into CAD. Bluetooth-enabled laser technology means that surveys can be conducted quickly and delivered consistently to a remote Revit or CAD enabled workstation, in a workflow that is controlled and repeatable.  The result is five to ten times faster documentation of buildings in the field.

By pressing a button on the range finder, almost any object, walls, windows, doors, plumbing objects, fire protection, electrical objects, and measurements are transferred directly to the workstation, stored in the database, and built directly.  As your measured walls are 'built', windows are added, duplexes, fire pulls, toilets, whatever you need documented.
