What do we have in common? Almost nothing but we were lucky enough to cross paths with his old home. We were invited into the project as part of our involvement with the Consulting Collaborative and the dynamo that is Tracey Powell and the new owner needed plans. We also brought in Bill Gutelius of Qntfi, for a couple of reasons A) Bill’s a good guy and is a distributor for Hovermap and Emesent Products. Hovermap uses a Velodyne Puck as part of their SLAM device (glossary of all this stuff at the end) and B) Bill lives in Albany which is a lot closer to Woodstock then us. Partnering up would allow us to digest Hovermap data which I have been curious about and also save us the drive. However, when Bill got on the property he phoned me almost immediately. Here is the conversation as best as I can recall…
Bill: “You know this is Levon Helm’s old house”
Me: “What?! Holy Sh** I should have made the drive.
Bill: “What do you want me to capture?”
Me: “Everything”
Now the client had only wanted a couple of the floors and a single section in 2D but when you get to walk through the home and grounds of such a music icon, at least one I have a ton of respect for, well, you get everything. So we got everything and modeled it completely in 3D and in Revit. I provided a screen shot and some links to the live model. It’s on our A360 drive so it launches in a web browser and you can walk through yourself.
So what do we have in common with Levon Helm who was phenomenal musician and American icon, well we got to walk through his house, and now you can too, at least digitally. https://autode.sk/36o3Qei

No matter what instrument you play, and whether it’s making music, singing or cheering on your kids or your friends I can’t wait to hear it.
All the best,

-Thanks for tolerating my writing, as we just finished this project and listening to our local rock station , WZLX 100.7, this morning the DJ said happy birthday to Levon Helms so I may have rushed this one a bit. He would have been 80 today, May 26.
